What is your name??

Apr 18, 2025

Each Easter, I recall a memorable sermon where the pastor claimed he could name everyone present—and indeed, he did!

Today, I know your name as well! It is the same as mine!

Your name is Barabbas… and my name is Barabbas!

Barabbas was a notorious prisoner, accused of insurrection and murder. Pontius Pilate offered the unruly crowd a choice to release either Jesus or Barabbas as a gesture of goodwill during the Passover festival. The crowd chose to free Barabbas, condemning Jesus to be crucified.

This choice highlights the profound injustice faced by Jesus, who was innocent, and yet bore the sins of humanity. The release of Barabbas serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifice Jesus made, taking the place of a condemned man, and through His suffering and death, offering redemption to all.

As we celebrate Easter, let us remember that our name is Barabbas!

Because our name is Barabbas, and Christ Jesus was crucified in our place, we can celebrate this Day of Victory and be reminded of the transformative power our Risen Savior brings with His eternal promise of salvation, and the boundless love that triumphs over sin and death.

His death, burial, and resurrection solidify the divine all-encompassing power of God! It symbolizes our hope for salvation, brings light into a dark world, and fills believers with courage for the future! For we know that ultimately His good triumphs over evil, and that Faith, Hope, and Love will conquer the darkness!

Sin, where are your shackles?
Death, where is your sting?
Hell, has been defeated!
The grave could not hold THE KING!

Happy Easter my Dear Friend!
